Welcome to Mr.Dargan’s Victorian Tours where the emphasis on everything we do is FUN – some facts, lots of stories, some flora & fauna and yes, even some ‘tall tales’. Our tours are based in Bray, Co.Wicklow, a town that Mr. William Dargan was instrumental in developing in the 19th century.
Bray is known as the ‘Gateway to Co.Wicklow’ and Co.Wicklow is ‘The Garden of Ireland’. Therefore Mr.Dargan’s Victorian Tours are an ideal and novel way to explore this most beautiful part of Ireland only 15km from the heart of Dublin. Bray has also been the film-making capital of Ireland for the past 50 years.

Our tours are seen through the eyes of ‘Mr.Dargan’ (aka tour guide Philip Byrne) who lived from 1799-1866, Mr.Dargan that is NOT Philip! We deal with the area from thousands of years before Mr.Dargan, Bray during his lifetime and Bray as it is today. Therfore our tenses can get a little mixed up at times as past, present and future are blended into an enjoyable half-day stroll, ramble or coach tour.
All our tours are available on an All-Year-Round basis by prior arrangement.
Tours can be arranged for individuals or for groups. Maximum group size is about 25 persons. Groups larger than this make it very difficult for everyone to be able to fully participate.
However if your have a larger group do not despair. Mr.Dargan has several excellent colleagues who will be more than willing to assist so that your larger group can be accommodated.
